Sue's story
Cancer
Patient Care has been helping Sue*, a 71 year old woman, since early
last year, when she was diagnosed with Multiple Melanoma. Due to the
nature of this form of cancer, there is a strong possibility that she
will need chemotherapy intermittently for the remainder of her life.
The side effects of the treatments are devastating.
Sue 194 had lost considerable weight due to nausea and lack of
appetite. Cancer Patient Care was able to provide Sue with nutritional
supplements and she states "saved her life."
As a senior citizen, Sue lives on only Social S dab ecurity benefits.
Because of nonexistent prescription coverage in her Medicare plan,
Cancer Patient Care provided assistance to relieve the increasing
financial burden caused by rising drug costs. Added to this, Sue lives
on her own with no family support in the area.
Until being connected with our organization, she had no transportation
to get to necessary doctors appointments and treatments. Cancer Patient
Care arranged for transportation to those appointments. Sue is
extremely grateful for all of the help provided by Cancer Patient Care. |
