The Petersons Leave a Legacy of Hope
More than 15 years ago, when her husband Earl passed away, Juanita Peterson began planning their legacy of giving to those in need in Spokane. According to Jean Edwards, Senior V.P. of Bank of America's U.S. Trust, "Juanita was such a caring client of mine for many years. She was also very careful to make sure her estate would truly benefit those in our community who needed help the most." Entrusting a large portion of her estate to Cancer Patient Care, Juanita ensured that many cancer patients in her own community would have access to life-sustaining emergency assistance and support. "Receiving such a large one-time bequest is a source of real pride to all of us at CPC," said Cliff Evans, Executive Director. "Very large gifts in this range -$75,000-$100,000 don't happen every day at Cancer Patient Care. However, when they do, we can use this to help in ways our guidelines for service don't always allow. We can also put some away for that "rainy day" which always comes to local non-profits like ours."
